At the University of Toronto she completed the Master of Arts in Theatre. She also double majored with Psychology and Sociology. Contractor was a student who'd spent a year in university, went on to audition at an open call for Pericles which was held at the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the part. In 2002, Canadian theater critics were awed by her performance in 92 productions of Pericles. She was offered the opportunity to be a part of the Stratford Conservatory. The school is a private institution that accepts just eight men as well as four female students to take a course in the art of classical theater. Contractor was ecstatically accepted.
